Six ways we gather

Each strand has its own rhythm — some loud, some barely above a whisper. All of them are free, and all of them welcome first-timers.

Come as you are.
Leave as one of us.

No membership, no fee, no need to have read the book. Sit at the back for an hour and see how it feels — most people end up reading something aloud by their third visit.

Two souls in conversation — slow, rooted talk on the things we rarely say out loud.

About us · எங்களைப் பற்றி

It began with
nine people and
one borrowed room.

In November 2025, a handful of us met above a bookshop in Wellawatte because we were tired of talking about Tamil literature only on the internet. Someone read a poem. Someone else cried. We booked the room again for the next month.

Mozhi Sangamam is now six strands of gathering — reading, music, film, conversation, performance and a podcast — run entirely by volunteers in Colombo.

We are not an institution. We are a room that keeps getting bigger.

The Mozhi Sangamam community, together in one room

எமது நோக்கம் · Our manifesto

மொழி ஒரு வீடு.
அந்த வீட்டின் கதவு எப்போதும் திறந்தே இருக்கும்.
இங்கே கவிதை வாசிக்கப் பயப்பட வேண்டாம்;
தவறாக உச்சரித்தாலும் பரவாயில்லை.
நாம் ஒன்றாக வாசிக்கிறோம், ஒன்றாகக் கேட்கிறோம்.

Language is a house, and its door stays open. Do not be afraid to read a poem here — mispronounce it freely. We read together, and we listen together.
